The history
Samara was founded in 1586 by Knyaz Zasekin on the left side of Volga river.It is one of the oldest cities of Volga area and one of the oldest cities of Russia.It is inhabited by 1.2 million people.It`s square is 541 km2.

The space capital of Russia
61 year ago there was the the first human flight into space.Yury Gagarin discovered the space on the "Vostok-1'' rocket.But only 5% of people know that this rocket was partly constructed in Samara.
Samara Cosmos Museum is open to tell you the history of Samara`s impact on space discovering. Close to the building you can see prototype of the original spaceship,which is about 150 m high.
